Videogame hardware manufacturer, Nvidia, have announced their own portable console, tentatively named ?Project Shield? at the Consumer Electronics Show, which kicked off in Las Vegas this week.
?
Project Shield looks kind of like an Xbox controller with a 5? screen attached to it, and it runs on the Android OS. It includes two analog sticks, has a Micro-SD card slot for memory, and an HDMI port for video output. Nvidia say the device is powered by their Tegra 4 processor and will provide 5-10 hours of gaming time on a single charge.
?
In addition to running its own games, Project Shield will also be able to stream games running on a PC, according to a separate report by the Wall Street Journal. Streaming will reportedly be enabled by a variant of Wi-Fi technology.
?
Nvidia have not yet announced a release date or price for Project Shield, or details regarding software support.
